In-Year Application Process 2026
- How to Apply: Parents must submit an application through the Warwickshire Parent Portal. You can list up to six schools in order of preference.
- Timescales: Warwickshire County Council aims to process in-year applications within 10 school days, with a legal maximum of 15 school days.
- Start Dates: Once a place is offered, children are generally expected to start at the school within 20 school days.
- Proof of Address: You must provide proof of residency, such as a current Council Tax bill or a signed tenancy agreement. Short-term moves purely to secure a place may be considered fraudulent and lead to the withdrawal of an offer.
- Appeals: If a place is refused, parents have a statutory right to appeal. Appeals can be lodged through the Warwickshire School Appeals webpage.
- Waiting Lists: If a preferred school is full, children are automatically added to the waiting list, which is ranked according to the school’s oversubscription criteria.
Managing Applications Over Holidays
- Summer Period: While the Parent Portal remains open in June, the Council cannot process new offers once schools are closed for the summer (typically from late July). Processing resumes in September.
