SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools)

All Church of England dioceses and the Methodist Church use the Church of England Education Office's framework for the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) under Section 48 of the Education Act 2005.  The SIAMS Evaluation Schedule sets out the expectations for the conduct of the Statutory Inspection of Anglican, Methodist and ecumenical Schools under Section 48 of the Education Act 2005.

We were inspected in November 2025 - here is a summary of our SIAMs report. We were given Judgement 1 - Mappleborough Green Church of England Primary School is living up to its foundation as a Church school and is enabling pupils and adults to flourish. It has the following notable strengths.

Vision and Leadership

    • The school’s Christian vision, inspired by biblical teachings, is deeply embedded in all aspects of school life, fostering an environment where both pupils and adults thrive.
    • Strong partnerships with the local church and diocese enhance the school’s mission, ensuring that individuals feel valued and heard.
    • While governors are engaged in monitoring the vision's implementation, their evaluation of its impact is still developing.

Vision and Curriculum

    • The curriculum reflects the school’s vision, offering diverse learning opportunities that promote academic and personal growth, particularly for vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils.
    • Extracurricular activities are evaluated by the school council to ensure they meet pupils' interests, and tailored support is provided for those with special educational needs.

Worship and Spirituality

    • Collective worship is central to school life, fostering character development through engaging and inclusive practices.
    • The Faith Alive team enhances worship experiences, although understanding of spiritual development among pupils and adults is developing.

Vision, Justice, and Responsibility

    • The school promotes dignity and respect, encouraging pupils to engage in community service and leadership roles.
    • Partnerships with local organisations and initiatives reflect a commitment to justice and responsibility, benefiting families regardless of their backgrounds.

Religious Education

    • RE is prioritized and well-resourced, providing a comprehensive curriculum that explores various worldviews and enhances pupils' understanding of different beliefs.
    • Engaging experiences, such as visits to places of worship, enrich the learning process and foster enthusiasm among pupils.
